22/06/14 Added in lightmapping and tweaked a lot of my in game obstacles. Now I feel it is ready and much closer. Likely to do my one last round of testing then release. Will add in the screen shots once it's done.
22/02/14 * Finally - back on my blog. Apologies for the lack of updates and revisions here, so much has changed and happened but I will get the site back in order.
I have spent some time working in Unity3D in recent years, culminating in my first game, nigh on release.
The aim of this game:
* ensure I get to the finish line, and I mean app store release.
* learn all the processes I work well with, where I go bad, where I waste time.
* Agile driven
* Game should be good, but the final product is a learning tool for my development processes.
Enter ROBOT RESCUE!
The game is very close to finish now! Thankfully this means I can spend time on my next game with all the goodness that I have learnt:
* keep the idea simple and short for a mobile game
* Prototype
* Define behaviours
* Check behaviours are ALL defined (very important!)
* Game style/art/design (get a second opinion)
* look at design of code, really focus on PATTERNS
* CODE away....
* Use test flight for QA
* Repeat last 2 steps till...
* App store release
These steps are pretty much how I expect my next game to go and what I have learnt about my current game. These I would consider 'epics' in the agile world. From here I can define all the stories for each epic. I anticipate it should be able to be completed with 6 months.
