Learning 3D - Properly!

I have played and dabbled with 3D stuff for ages. There would always be a point I would hit and not really go much further. OpenGL, Direct3D...even OGRE stuff which hides the preparation layers from you....

I recently realised what the snag was. Its called 'pointers and references' and I cannot emphasise enough how important they are to understand. It is crucial, particularly I find as I am learning Direct3D (again) and this time it just seems so much easier and I can vouch that it is definately that part of my C++ understanding that has made it easier to understand.

I will be putting up various little tidbits as I go along and learn in the hope maybe it might help someone else figure out some stuff if they ever come across my blog!
